Michael Schiebel; LMT; Holistic Practice

Background: I was born and raised in Southeast Iowa; my mothers’ side was military influenced, my fathers side was farming. Upon graduating high school, I joined the United States Air Force at the tail end of Desert Storm. Stationed at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina; I was part of the first Composite Wing of the Air Force. 2 of the 4 years I served on Honor Guard and Sabre team, my 4 year position was an Aircrew Life Support Technician for the A-10’s; 75th Fighter Squadron/23rd Wing. I used my GI Bill towards education in Science and Communication. I joined the Spa world in October of 2001, at the Grand Opening of the Golden Door Spa at the Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona. The team was led by Lorraine Park with the vision of Debra Szekely. (Mrs. Szekely set the standard of eastern philosophy of spa in the western culture. She moved on to work with 4 presidents in health care administration.)

I entered school for massage therapy at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Tempe Arizona; in 2002. Upon completion, I attained a degree in Sport and Myo Therapy. At this time, Dr. Huggins and I began brainstorming on the concept of mind body soul connection, the relationship of Psychology and Holistics,, and the type of Clinic we would one day open.
My travels took me to Telluride, Colorado where I had the opportunity to hone my skill with Atmosphere Day Spa, Golden Door Spa at the Peaks, and work with Almay Cosmetics as a Therapist and later, Spa Consultant for 2 Independent Film festivals. This environment opened me up to the Professional athlete to sport enthusiast; child to adult; on how we tend to “use” our body and repetitive nature of health through Motion. On the side, I began volunteering at a Wildlife Rehab and Refuge massaging animals. My primary clients were 2 mountain Lions; one for arthritis in her hips, the other for balancing youth temperament. I also worked with owls, eagles, horses, winter wolves and coyotes.
I returned to the valley with a fresh perspective at the end of 2005, where I crossed pathes with Shaman Serge “Running Wolf” Martel. He taught me how to wield and move energy. I finished my duration with the Golden Door Spa at the Boulders Resort.
I redirected my work to The Sanctuary Resort on Camelback Mountain October 2006. It is here that I have been able to customize therapies for the individual, listening to their bodys’ needs with the various therapies and techniques of Aroma therapy, Physical therapy, Massage, and Energy Work.

Dr. Huggins, Dr. Mather, and I took our concept to new levels, deeper levels of how our individual fields of study could create a trifecta, integrating our fields to create TRILOGY Integrated Psychological Services.
